Here's some password guidance for yourself and users in your organization. Make sure to let your users know about these recommendations and enforce the recommended password policies at the organizational level.
Don't use a password that is the same or similar to the one you use on any other websites
Don't use a single word, for example, password, or a commonly-used phrase like Iloveyou, P@$$w0rd, 123456789, abdcefg or etc.
Don't use a password which are related to you such as your name, birthday date, your favourite bands, your pets name, your family's name, social media aliases name and phrases that you like to use frequently.
Don't use a password which contains such as the names and birthdays of your friends and family
Don't use a password which contains your company name.
Don't use repeating patterns password such as fourfourfourfour, passwordpassword or etc.
Here are a few recommendations for keeping your organization as secure as possible.
An 8-character minimum length requirement (longer isn't necessarily better)
Special character composition or symbols. For example, *&(^%$
- Uppercase characters
- Non-alphanumeric characters such as numbers, 1-0
To encourage users to think about a unique password, we recommend keeping a reasonable 8 to 10-character minimum length requirement.
For safer and stronger account security, do ENABLE the Two Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method wherever it is available.
